Where it all began...

This section is gonna be one with the beginnings of 3 things: Hanson, me, and this site.

HANSON

Hanson may have broken on to the music scene in 1997, but that's not when they started. They actually began about 10 years ago with singing accapella in many different events. Of course, they didn't get noticed right away. To promote themselves, they released "Boomerang" in 1994, and "MMMBop" in 1996. They performed at schools and contests until they were finally noticed by their manager, Steve Greenburg. It was "MMMBOP" that got them noticed. That's why it was put on "Middle Of Nowhere", along with two other songs from their 2nd independent CD, "Thinking Of You" and "With You In Your Dreams". The rest is history.

ME

This is where I'll tell you about my reason for being a Hanson fan. The first time I heard Hanson was on VH-1. I saw the video and wondered, "Who are these guys?" This was in mid-May, 1997. Well, by the next week, I was a fan. I got their tape, "Middle Of Nowhere" within a week after that. In June, I got a CD player and by July, I had the album on CD, along with several singles and imports. My collection and adoration has continued to blossom from there ever since.

SITE

This site was first opened on November 23rd, 2000. I didn't have the Internet before September, so that's why I hadn't made a webpage earlier. I'm not sure why I waited until now to actually make one. But now I'm so deep, I don't think I can ever stop loving it. The name? Well, it just made sense. For one, Island is the name of Hanson's record label. Then there's the whole hype thing with "Survivor" (which I NEVER watched, by the way) and the fact that Hanson has a song called "Back To The Island" on Boomerang". The name just fit.
